Career options

As a Murdoch Animal Science graduate, your employment outlook is promising, especially if you combine it with other disciplines. Depending on which skill combinations or specialisations you have, your Murdoch degree may lead you towards work and study opportunities in a number of areas. The following are some professions to consider. Majors or minors to improve your prospects of achieving employment can be discussed.

Agricultural Economist / Rural Advisor

Analysis of economics of livestock businesses, short and long- term prediction for enterprise planning.

Geneticist / Breeding Consultant

Provision of specialist breeding advice and coordination of breeding programs, generally for one species.

Research Scientist

Research university- or state government-based, on any specialty concerned with any of the livestock species.
