Get Engaged!

An Evening Seminar for Vets and Nurses

Using joint taps in diagnosing lameness problems

Wednesday, 17th February 2021

The CAVE Get Engaged Evening is a complimentary offering to the CAVE Membership community.

Non-CAVE members are welcome to attend from $55.00

This year, our free CAVE Member Event consists of two presentations running concurrently, one for Vets with A/Prof Mark Glyde, and one for Nurses with Dr Isobel Monotti.

The seminars will be delivered live on campus as well as live streamed with full interactivity for everyone who joins us online, members and non-members alike. However! To ensure we can cater to everyone, members and non-members must register on Eventbrite whether it is an e-ticket or an on campus ticket. Thank you!

Vet Stream with A/Prof Mark Glyde

Mark will use video case studies with 2 key objectives.
Firstly, to simplify reliable collection of diagnostic joint fluid samples from the shoulder, elbow, carpus and stifle joints.
Secondly, he will work through case studies showing how to easily interpret synovial fluid, mostly in-house, and what indications exist for submitting fluid for full analysis.
The aim of this seminar is to improve your knowledge, skills and confidence in using joint taps in diagnosing lameness due to joint problems.

Nurse Stream with Dr Isobel Monotti

Isobel will focus on the preparations required to set up for successful joint taps, handling and processing samples and managing the patients from sedation to recovery.
The aim of this seminar is to equip you with the knowledge and skills to confidently prepare for and assist with joint taps.
