Traditional project management programs for new project managers follow a standard set of topics typically based on PMBOK or Prince 2 Methodologies, but don’t help senior managers take control of projects for which they have budget responsibility. This program provides insights, questions to ask and tools and techniques to enable project managers and senior functional managers to actually be in control, and be seen to be in control. When senior managers are not in control, planning becomes ad hoc, communications become mixed, actions aren’t completed, resources go astray, issues are not updated or tracked, risks are not managed, costs blow out and clients rapidly lose confidence. In the worst case, a project may be cancelled and result in litigation.
This program takes participants through numerous real world examples, provides participants with a large checklist for different management levels over a project life cycle, and looks at two case studies, to give them a thorough working understanding project control.
