The Transitions Program cuts through the complexity and 'noise' of the management experience and enables participants to take stock, reflect, engage in dialogue and then lead with renewed confidence.
Progress for high-potential executives today requires an elevated perspective on the multiple pressures they face in their management roles. This 5-day program deals with the realities of management, offers pragmatic insight into the challenges senior managers face, and focuses on the key strategic drivers of organisational effectiveness. Grounded in both research and experience, the program aims to cut through the complexity and 'noise' of the managerial experience, and enable participants to take stock, reflect and move forward with purpose and clarity.
Based on the MEEC model of executive action, the Transitions program encourages senior managers to critically examine their organisational environment, stakeholders, and systems - operational, functional and behavioural - and develops their capacity to understand that context, make informed decisions, and positively influence organisational outcomes. Rather than offering a set of generic prescriptions, the program enables participants to consider alternatives, formulate context-sensitive approaches, and determine how they will be executed.
Using a combination of relevant and thought-provoking case studies, structured experience, expert input, action learning, rich discussion, team and individual tasks, the program provides a forum for managers to stretch and challenge themselves and their peers. This is not 'MBA lite', but is designed to equip managers on the rise with actionable tools, techniques, and frameworks for effectiveness, positioning themselves and their organisations to excel. During the program, participants will develop an actionable project plan based on their individual Learning Application Proposal (LAP) for implementing a strategic managerial intervention in their workplaces.
The program is delivered by high-calibre facilitators from Murdoch University and business people with experience, real world expertise and edge. They are complemented by a program director providing support to participants throughout the program.
Articulation into Tertiary Qualifications
The Transitions program is of a similar standing to a unit in any high-quality, international standard MBA. Murdoch University has recognized its equivalence to a specified elective in its MBA, and there is potential for further credit towards such a qualification through recognition of prior learning. To be eligible for such the accreditation, participants need to complete the program activities and submit them for assessment. For inquiries about this option, please contact our Program Manager, Dr. Michael Connor, at m.connor@murdoch.edu.au. Please note: additional fees will apply.
