The DVC Education has overall responsibility for enhancement and growth of the University's undergraduate and postgraduate coursework profile. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of innovative curriculum design within the University's schools of study. In the current Higher Education environment emphasis must be placed on the use of educational technologies, successful utilisation of work-integrated learning partnerships and initiatives, and the development of effective strategies to support student from diverse educational backgrounds.

The DVC Research has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and focus of research undertaken within the University. This position will be very active in developing closer research links and a funding base with both private and public sector users and providers. In addition the DVC Research is responsible for ensuring the promotion of research for the public good and educating the public about the benefits of research and its contribution to society.

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Professor Bev Thiele

The DVC for Academic Affairs has responsibility for the Faculties and faculty support, and in that capacity deals with matters pertaining to teaching and learning, academic staff and students. The DVCA is also responsible for the University's Quality Office which manages the program of quality reviews of schools and service units. In 2012, the DVCA will coordinate the re-registration process that the University will undergo for the first time following the establishment of the new Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).

Deputy Vice Chancellor for Professional Services, Mr Jon Baldwin

The DVC for Professional Services is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and as such plays a critical role in setting and achieving the strategic direction of the University. Operationally this role is responsible for the management of the University's administrative support services and resources. The following areas fall within the responsibility of the DVC for Professional Services: Finance, Legal and Governance, People Services and Culture, Library, Marketing and Communication, Student Services, Transnational Education, Facilities, Commercial Services, Research and Development, Alumni, and Information Technology.

The DVC for Professional Services is a direct advisor to the Vice Chancellor and is a critical role within the Governance structure of the University.
