Accepting your offer

Receiving an offer is an exciting step in your journey to postgraduate study at Murdoch. Secure your place by accepting your offer. 


Your offer for postgraduate study at Murdoch will be sent to your email, so keep an eye on your inbox. When you receive an offer, you must respond to it by the deadline noted in the email or apply for an extension.

Your offer

  • Domestic students

    To respond to your Murdoch offer, you need to:

    • Activate your student account using your Murdoch student number, which you’ll find in your offer letter. You can also set up your student password and confirm your email address and mobile number.
    • Accept your offer to secure your place at Murdoch. You can also defer it to start another semester or reject it if you no longer wish to study at Murdoch.
    • Start enrolling. Plan your course, choose your units and lock in your timetable for the semester.

    Remember, if you’ve changed your mind about what you want to study at Murdoch, you may be able to transfer to a different course after you start. Contact our Student Centre to discuss your options.

  • International Students

    To respond to your Murdoch offer, you need to:

    • Read and understand your offer letter and Acceptance of Offer and Contract.
    • Activate your student account using your Murdoch student number, which you’ll find in your offer letter. You can also set up your student password and confirm your email address and mobile number.
    • Respond to your offer.

    Accept your offer

    To accept your offer and secure your place at Murdoch, email us with:

    Once you have accepted your place, you can plan your course, choose your units and lock in your timetable for the semester.

    Defer your course

    To start your course in a different semester, email us with:

    If there is any change in your course or entry requirements in general, you may be required to provide further information on additional studies or work experience undertaken during your deferral period.

    Reject your offer

    If you no longer wish to study at Murdoch, email us with:

  • Packaged students

    You may also receive an offer if you have completed a course with one of our off-campus partner institutions. If you are an international student, this offer will allow you apply for a visa covering the full duration of your course in Australia.
    When you receive an offer as a packaged student, you will need to complete an Acceptance of Offer and Contract.

Orientation

Starting postgraduate study can be daunting, but we’re here to help. It’s a good idea to come along to a postgraduate orientation evening for the chance to meet staff and fellow postgrad students, and learn about the people and services that will help you on your way. Here’s what you need to know about orientation:

  • There are lots of events on at Bush Court at lunchtime, and you’ll find plenty of clubs and interest groups where you can meet new people.
  • If you’re an international student, it’s worth planning your arrival so you are at Murdoch to take part in the international orientation program. This program will introduce you to other international students and help you transition to life in Western Australia with excursions, lunches, dinner and plenty of other activities.
