Databases demonstration: PsycInfo & PubMed - Online

A brown-haired person sits in front of a laptop computer and makes notes on a notepad.

This online workshop will show you how to construct the same search on PsycInfo and PubMed, demonstrating differences between databases and their usage. The workshop will cover:

  • Syntaxes in each database
  • Different functionalities in each database, e.g. PubMed assumptive search
  • Usability
  • Controlled vocabularies/thesauri
  • How to apply to other databases

The workshop will focus on database usage using a pre-created search strategy. As such, we recommend attendees are familiar with identifying search words and creating search strings, or have attended the Library’s Intermediate Search Strategy Workshop.

Registrations are open to Murdoch University students, researchers and staff.
