This artwork titled Sincerity and Symbiosis forms part of Capone’s ongoing Forewarning project, which explores vulnerability and the fragile relationship between humans and the environment.

Presented as a three‑channel video, it documents a six‑week durational performance in a plantation forest in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. Through daily, ritualised gestures honouring each tree, Capone reflects on ecological loss and the tensions between care and harm within an artificial, deforested landscape.

The forest becomes both a sacred space and a site of rupture, shaped by human intervention. An outstretched hand that never touches evokes reverence while acknowledging the limits of repair. Performed barefoot through winter, Capone’s endurance underscores vulnerability, emphasising empathy, interconnection, and the precarious balance between humans and the natural world.
