Before asking us to create or amend your reading list, you will need to gather the resources you wish to provide to students. Where possible, we encourage teaching staff to consider using Open Educational Resources (OERs), which offer unlimited user access to students at no cost.
Textbooks
Unit Coordinators are required to keep textbook information up to date in their reading lists to ensure students purchase the correct textbook for their unit. If you know which textbooks you wish to use, you can submit your textbooks to us using our Select unit textbooks form.
You'll need to let us know the title, ISBN, edition/year and whether it is an essential textbook or recommended textbook. Essential textbooks are those that students are required to purchase for their unit.
Once you've added essential textbooks to your reading list, the Library will purchase copies of the textbooks according to the table below.
| Number of students | Number of copies purchased |
|---|---|
| 0-30 | 1 |
| 30-60 | 2 |
| 60+ | 3 |
A print copy will be added to the Library's High Demand print collection, which can be used within the Library or borrowed for a short period of time. Alternatively, an unlimited user licence for e-books may be purchased for the Library when availability or price allows.
