How Veterinary Education embraces the 3R’s of ethical use of animals in teaching

The 2025 Symposium on Insights in animal ethics, animal welfare, statistics, and openness was held on the 1st of October 2025 at Murdoch University.

Dr Annett Annandale presented on the role of simulations and models used at School of Veterinary Medicine and The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University. She talked about how they are used in the veterinary curriculum and how this contributes to the principles of Replacement, Reduction and Refinement, the foundational framework used to guide responsible and ethical use of animals in research and teaching.
