Research Scholarships: Constructing the Word Camel Pangenome.
Murdoch University are offering funded PhD program as a three-year research training program focussing on applied research that will benefit camel industries across the globe and will have multiple medical biotechnology outcomes.
The Program includes:
- Admission to a university PhD program.
- Supervision by a world leading Murdoch University team
- A three-year scholarship package totalling approximately $47,000 per annum tax exempt (2025 rate).
- Opportunity to travel to international partner organisations for study.
Successful students are subject to the policies, procedures and guidelines of Murdoch University. Students will receive a standard PhD on completion.

The student must:
- Meet participating university PhD admission requirements.
- Meet university English language requirements.
- Not have previously completed a PhD.
- Be able to commence the Program in 2026.
- Enrol as a full-time PhD student. Part-time arrangements may be considered if approved by the supervisory team and in accordance with university policy.
- Be prepared to be located at the project location(s) that Murdoch University has approved and, if required, comply with the university’s external enrolment procedures.
- Be prepared to sign non disclosure and Intellectual Property agreements.
- Applicants are required to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to Prof. Sulev Koks sulev.koks@murdoch.edu.au that includes a 2-page statement, up to date CV and Academic Transcripts.
- The EOI is assessed by the supervisory team and shortlisted applicants are interviewed.
- The supervisory team nominates a preferred applicant and informs iPhD office and GRS (or equivalent).
- Original or certified copies of your academic transcripts and certificates.
- A certified copy of your Australian or other passport or birth certificate (if born in Australia).
- A copy of your latest curriculum vitae (CV).
Payment Method
- All funds will be distributed through Murdoch University.
- The industry partner will distribute any scholarship top-up funds to the university
- A three-year scholarship package totalling approximately $47,000 per annum tax exempt (2025 rate).
