Join us for the April 2026 online Joint Biosecurity Seminar featuring presentations on the latest polyphagous shothole borer research and engineering solutions to biosecurity risks in shipping containers.

HBI Murdoch University, The James Cook University Centre for Tropical Biosecurity, and CSIRO invite you to join us for the April 2026 seminar in the Joint Biosecurity Seminar Series.

The seminar will feature presentations from HBI's Centre for Biosecurity and One Health including:

  • Dr Kirsty Moynihan (Director, Centre for Biosecurity and One Health) giving an Introduction to polyphagous shothole borer;
  • Shahidul Khan (PhD candidate) discussing his research on polyphagouse shothole borer; and
  • Dr Samuel Lymbery (Research Fellow) exploring shipping container re-design to improve biosecurity.
