Murdoch University School of Nursing led an ANZAHPE 2026 workshop exploring how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can be applied in health education to create more inclusive, equitable, and learner-centered experiences.

Murdoch University School of Nursing was proud to host "From Principles to Practice: Implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Health Education" at ANZAHPE 2026 in Christchurch, Aotearoa. This interactive workshop explored how educators can translate the principles of UDL into meaningful, practical change within health professions education.

The 90-minute session brought together educators from across Australia and New Zealand representing nursing, medicine and dentistry, alongside the Director of Education from an international organisation supporting mentoring, education and capacity building across more than 60 developing countries.

The diversity of perspectives created a vibrant learning environment, with participants sharing challenges, innovations and practical strategies for designing more inclusive, equitable learning experiences. Together, we explored how thoughtful curriculum design can reduce barriers to learning while supporting the success of all students.

Workshops like these reflect Murdoch University School of Nursing’s ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, educational innovation, and preparing the future health workforce through evidence-informed, learner-centred practice.
