In the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, students are provided with unique opportunities to engage closely with industry and community partners. Students can therefore build rich and dynamic learning experiences within their academic programs, while building capabilities and qualities that will shape future careers.

Our Politics, International Studies and Security program provides students with opportunities to undertake real-world projects with Australian and international governments. These projects seek to resolve critical issues in environmental, climate, political, and social contexts. Our range of internships, research projects and industry partnerships prepare students for a range of careers in public policy, international relations, and environmental and human security.

Students in Community and Sustainable Development programs undertake important work with partner organisations, shaping sustainable, healthy, and resilient communities. By working with industry and community partners, students gain practical experience and develop skills in areas such as community engagement, project management and sustainability.

Major study areas in the Humanities and Creative Arts offer opportunities for close engagement with leading cultural institutions. Our expert academic staff work closely with galleries, museums, archives and theatre companies, leading to innovative project and internship opportunities for students.  Authentic learning experiences help students develop relevant skills and build professional portfolios, providing foundations for graduate careers in such areas as arts administration, interpretation, policy design and cultural heritage management.

Our relationships with industry and community partners provide students with vibrant learning experiences that prepares them for successful careers. By working on real-world projects, students develop practical skills and a deep understanding of the issues facing their industries and communities. They also forge strong relationships with industry and community partners, which can be invaluable when it comes to finding employment after graduation.
