Murdoch University’s second Chancellor Sir Ronald Wilson said in 1980: “Murdoch belongs to Western Australia, and ... I have no doubt that the health of Murdoch in future years will depend in no small respect on the health of its community relationships.” Universities exist to enhance the prosperity and social fabric of their communities.
