Welcome to the School of Education

The School of Education is one of the largest in the University, offering undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in a broad range of specialisations. Its nationally accredited and recognised initial teacher education courses prepare graduate teachers, with authentic learning outcomes, for Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary sectors.

Postgraduate courses provide ongoing professional learning in a diverse range of areas to support professionals to respond to the evolving opportunities and challenges of contemporary learning contexts.

The School leads high-quality, real-world research focusing on expanding knowledge of effective teaching and learning, the wellbeing, performance and outcomes of students and teachers, enhancing the effectiveness of learning environments and education systems and in response to evolving priorities and challenges.

Through its teaching and research, the School of Education has strong connections with industry. Connections with Murdoch’s local communities surrounding its campuses are just as important as the links staff have to learning communities throughout Western Australia, Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Murdoch University has a reputation for its industry leading commitment to social equity and inclusion and the School of Education is committed to this agenda through all of its activity.

The School also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 17 SDGs inform our teaching, research and service to the community.
