The School of Education (at Murdoch University) is proud of its longstanding collaboration with the International Baccalaureate (IB) to support educators’ professional learning. Since 2010, eligible postgraduate students enrolled in Murdoch’s Graduate Certificate and Master of Education in International Education have been able to pursue an IB Educator Certificate (IBEC). Through these programs, educators engage deeply with IB philosophy, curriculum, pedagogies and assessments. This learning helps prepare them to work in more than 6,000 IB World Schools around the world.

Murdoch’s IBEC courses are delivered across three campuses: Perth, Australia; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Singapore. This international reach brings together postgraduate students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. It also supports them in becoming reflective, internationally minded educators who can make meaningful contributions to schools and communities around the world.

Strong professional partnerships are central to this learning experience. Through its connections with IB World Schools, the IB Educator Network and the International Baccalaureate Organization, Murdoch offers students opportunities to learn through contemporary curriculum and direct engagement with educational practice, preparing them for the evolving demands of international education.
