Early Childhood - Mondays@Murdoch
The Brian Hill Lecture Theatre was alive with energy for the first Early Childhood Education Mondays@Murdoch.
On Monday, 12 May, the Brian Hill Lecture Theatre was alive with energy as over 60 attendees gathered to hear Dr. Sandra Hesterman and Kylie Ridder share their insights on children’s play schemes, the repeated patterns of behaviour that young children apply to their play and how understanding these allows adults to ‘tune in’ to how children think, feel and learn. Attendees from early learning and development centres, kindergartens, schools as well as parents and family members related the play schemes to children that they have worked with and were able to see how these provide the foundations for later more complex learning.
This engaging event served as a compelling introduction to an upcoming online short course on Play Schemes, launching in July.
