Open to a career in Allied Health Day

Maybe you’re passionate about supporting mental wellbeing, promoting active lifestyles or helping people reach their full potential? Perhaps you want to make a difference in how people move and feel every day.

If so, it sounds like you could be open to a career in Allied Health!

Studying in the field of Allied Health opens doors to endless opportunities. Allied Health is about empowering individuals and communities to achieve and maintain better physical and mental health and wellbeing. Here, you can choose from foundational allied health degrees like undergraduate Sport and Exercise Science with the option to continue into postgraduate study, as well as pathways offering a combined bachelor and master such as Clinical Exercise PhysiologyChiropractichigh performance sport, Creative Arts Therapies and Counselling.  Whichever path you take, you’ll graduate career-ready with the knowledge and practical experience to make a lasting impact on people’s lives.

Perhaps you are interested in helping people move better and live pain free? Our integrated four-year Bachelor of Health Science / Master of Clinical Chiropractic could be the course for you. We are Western Australia’s only fully accredited chiropractic program. In completing this program, you will learn to assess, diagnose and manage pain and disability of the spine and musculoskeletal system. The program emphasises evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning and patient-centred care. From early in your studies, you’ll build hands-on skills and progress into supervised clinical practice in our on-campus chiropractic clinic, working with real patients under the guidance of registered chiropractors. Graduates develop strong foundations in rehabilitation, exercise prescription and pain science, preparing you to support people across injury recovery, persistent pain and long-term wellbeing, while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Or turn your love for sport into a career with our Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science. Use your interest in sport and exercise to understand inner workings of the human body from a physiological, biomechanical and neurological perspective. From here, take that knowledge into the field to prescribe exercise for both the general population and athletes. You may choose to take the next step and become a leader in your field by studying the Masters Clinical Exercise Physiology or High-Performance Sport.

If you’re passionate about mental health and driven to help people navigate life’s challenges, a career in counselling offers a powerful and rewarding pathway. By combining evidence‑based psychological knowledge with your unique personal strengths, you’ll learn to support individuals experiencing emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties using a range of effective therapeutic approaches. As a qualified counsellor, you can work independently or as part of diverse organisations across health, education, community, and private practice settings—addressing the complex and evolving needs of our communities. Our accredited postgraduate counselling programs are designed to prepare you for real‑world practice. Choose from a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, or Master’s degree, featuring a strong practical focus that allows you to learn by doing through supervised placements and applied training.

For those drawn to more expressive and innovative approaches, you can also incorporate the creative arts into therapeutic practice. We are the only university in Western Australia offering accredited postgraduate qualifications in Creative Arts Therapies, including a Graduate Diploma and a Master’s degree. These programs are deeply committed to experiential learning, immersing you in expressive arts psychotherapies through workshops, clinical practice, and professional supervision. You’ll develop the ability to critically evaluate arts psychotherapy research while gaining hands‑on experience in creative, embodied, and relational therapeutic work. Whether your passion lies in traditional counselling or creative arts therapies, these programs equip you with the skills, confidence, and professional accreditation to make a meaningful impact—one person, one story, and one community at a time.

We know practical experience is essential, across all our programs you will have opportunities to work hands-on in real-world settings. In addition to learning from our staff, you will work side-by-side with industry professionals who will help you take your theoretical knowledge and skill to the next level.   These experiences don’t just shape your learning; they ensure you graduate having already made a meaningful impact on the communities you will serve.
