The School of Information Technology (IT) came together on Wednesday 11 February to celebrate a milestone moment for its graduating students, marking the culmination of years of dedication, late nights, problem‑solving and perseverance.  The graduation ceremony was filled with pride, reflection and excitement as students, staff, family and friends gathered to honour the achievements of the Class of 2025 and to look ahead to the futures they are now ready to shape.

Among the graduates was prize winner Josh Della‑Salle, who received the Jim Ellis Prize for best academic performance by a student graduating with an Information Technology major.  The award recognises outstanding academic excellence and Josh’s achievement was applauded by staff and peers alike.  Reflecting on the moment, Josh shared how meaningful the recognition was after years of sustained effort.

“Receiving the Jim Ellis Prize and graduating at the same time is incredibly rewarding.  There were moments throughout the course that were challenging, but all the hard work, persistence and support along the way have made this achievement feel truly special.”

The ceremony also celebrated the success of graduates Jaiden di Lanzo and Niamh Wilson, who both completed their Bachelor of Information Technology, majoring in Computer Science and Games Technology.  Their journeys through the degree showcased not only technical capability, but creativity, resilience and a passion for innovation.  For Niamh, graduation also marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter, having secured a position in the graduate program at Bankwest.  Her achievement reflects the strong industry relevance of the School of IT’s programs and the real‑world readiness of its graduates.

For Jaiden, the day was a moment to pause and take stock of everything that had been accomplished.

“Completing my degree feels surreal,” Jaiden said. “There were plenty of long nights and challenges along the way, but crossing the finish line and graduating makes it all worthwhile. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved and excited about what comes next.”

Professor Dave Parry, Dean of the School of IT, spoke with pride about the graduating cohort and the commitment they demonstrated throughout their studies.

“Today we celebrate not just academic success, but the resilience, curiosity and determination that define our graduates,” he said.“Each of you should be immensely proud of what you have achieved and confident in the impact you will make as you take your next steps.”

As the ceremony drew to a close, the sense of accomplishment was unmistakable. The School of IT extends its warmest congratulations to everyone who graduated, acknowledging the effort, perseverance and passion that brought them to this moment. Whether moving into graduate programs, industry roles or further study, the future is bright for this talented cohort, and the School looks forward to seeing the paths they will forge beyond graduation.
