Singapore Insights - Marketing Major Refresh
Strengthening Marketing Education through Industry Collaboration
In June, Murdoch Business School took a significant step toward enhancing its Marketing Major by hosting a strategic visit to the Murdoch Singapore campus. Dr. Ingrid O'Brien and Dr. Cheryl Leo led the initiative, engaging with affiliate marketing lecturers and local industry practitioners to gather feedback and explore opportunities for curriculum development.
Central to the visit were co-design sessions that brought together academic and industry perspectives in digital marketing and communications. These sessions fostered dynamic discussions around emerging digital trends, evolving skill requirements, and the imperative to future-proof marketing education. Participants emphasised the growing importance of digital agility, critical thinking, and platform-specific strategies, particularly in the context of AI integration.
The feedback from these sessions was overwhelmingly positive. Affiliate lecturers expressed strong enthusiasm for deeper collaboration, recognising the value of aligning academic content with real-world industry needs. This shared commitment to innovation and relevance is set to drive the development of more future-focused learning experiences for Murdoch Business School students.
Murdoch Business School remains dedicated to delivering a marketing curriculum that is both responsive and
forward-looking. By actively engaging with industry experts and educators, the Murdoch Business School continues to ensure its graduates are well-equipped to thrive in the fast-evolving digital landscape.
