A Murdoch Business School student's remarkable academic journey has highlighted the transformative power of accessible, globally connected business education and the opportunities created through Murdoch University's international partnerships

Lindsey Omenge, who completed her double major in Finance and Accounting studies through Murdoch University Dubai, has been awarded both the University Medal and the Vice Chancellor's Award, recognising her exceptional academic achievement and leadership.

Lindsey's success reflects Murdoch Business School's commitment to making high-quality business education accessible to students wherever they are in the world. Through the School's collaboration with Murdoch University Dubai and Navitas, students can access a world-class Australian education, personalised support, and industry-connected learning experiences close to home.

After initially struggling to find the right academic path, Lindsey discovered her passion for accounting and found a global learning community that helped her thrive. Studying alongside classmates from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds broadened her perspective, while strong connections with academic staff and industry opportunities helped build her confidence and career readiness. Within months of commencing her studies, she secured an internship and achieved financial independence while excelling academically.

“What I did not expect was how it would open me up completely. Professors who knew your name. Classmates from every corner of the world who challenged my thoughts and beliefs. Within two months I had an internship and I was financially independent, something that quietly rebuilt my confidence in ways a grade never could."
