Murdoch Business School

We are excited to share the latest updates and achievements from the first half of 2025. Our journey towards building a brighter future together has been filled with significant milestones, and we are eager to look ahead to the priorities and activities for the second half of the year.

Staff Recognition:

We had a wonderful moment of celebration as we recognised the achievements of our colleagues, Simon Minaee and Vesna Sampson, both were honoured with the College Award for Programs Enhancing Student Success. Their innovative work in redesigning the Entrepreneurship and Innovation major truly stands out as an example of cutting-edge curriculum development.

Additionally, Megan Paull was acknowledge for her leadership work on generating the Self Evaluation Report.  Megan extended thanks to staff across the school for their collaborative input.

H1 Milestone Achievements

The first half of 2025 has been a period of remarkable progress for Murdoch Business School. We have achieved several key milestones across various focus areas:

  • AACSB Membership Approved: We are proud to announce that our AACSB membership has been approved. This is a significant step towards achieving our business accreditation and developing our assurance of learning.
  • Campus Facilities: We have established a campus development steering committee and updated our digital infrastructure with new digital content screens and printers, reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Innovative Curriculum and Invigorated Research Focus: We launched the DBA program and a new Honours Program under the New Colombo Plan. Additionally, we appointed an ADR&I who will start in September 2025.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we have outlined several high-level priorities for the second half of 2025:

  • Higher Education Landscape: We will focus on the Accord and ATEC initiatives to align with the evolving higher education landscape.
  • Student and Alumni Engagement: Our efforts will include engaging future students, current students, and alumni through various activities and platforms.
  • Industry-Connected Advisory Boards and Committees: We aim to strengthen our connections with industry through advisory boards and committees.
  • Workforce and Campus Development Planning: We will continue to develop our workforce and campus to support our growth and innovation.
  • Transnational Education and Cross-Campus Opportunities: Expanding our transnational education programs and exploring cross-campus opportunities will be a key focus.
  • Research, Education, and Collaboration Hub (REaCH): We are excited to establish a hub for research, education, and collaboration to drive impactful initiatives.

Entrepreneur's Hub

The development and launch of a new Entrepreneur's Hub is a university initiative led by the Murdoch Business School in conjunction with Malka Foundation. This hub aims to provide a platform for students to create innovative ventures and make a meaningful impact in society. The hub will also offer one-off engagement opportunities for students. By the end of the 24 months, we anticipate that 5 students will be working towards founding their own companies. The Entrepreneur and Innovation HUB will support students through various stages, from inspiration and design to start-up and company formation, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed. This initiative aligns with our commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among our students.

Activity Snapshot

Our activities for the second half of 2025 will be centred around these priorities, ensuring that we continue to make meaningful progress and create value for our community. We will keep you updated on our journey and look forward to your continued support and engagement.

Thank you for being a part of Murdoch Business School's journey. Together, we are building a brighter future!
