Celebrating HDR Day: A Showcase of Research, Connection, and Community
Murdoch Business School recently celebrated HDR Day with a vibrant program of activities that highlighted the depth and diversity of our research community. The day opened with three engaging PhD seminars, each showcasing the scholarly achievements of our doctoral candidates.
Farjana Misu presented her completion seminar on “Inequities in the Utilisation of Maternal Healthcare Services in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: Comparative Insights from Bangladesh and Pakistan.” Yangzom shared their Confirmation of Candidature presentation, exploring “Empowering Employees: A Multi-Level Longitudinal Study of the Relationship Between Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Employee Contextual Performance.” Finally, Pradnya Dewi delivered a compelling completion presentation on “Carbon Management Accounting Adoption: Determinants and Its Impact on Corporate Performance.”
The day continued with induction meetings for our Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) supervisors and students, followed by a lively whole-school HDR networking event. During the event, Professor Antonia Girardi, Pro Vice Chancellor of Business and Dean of Business, warmly welcomed our new students and officially launched the Doctor of Business Administration program. Dr. Terri Trireksani inspired attendees with reflections on her Doctor of Business Administration journey, offering valuable insights and advice. We were also honoured to host Professor Chandra Krishnamurti from the University of South Australia, who delivered an engaging talk on how to thrive as a research student.
Throughout the day, students and staff enthusiastically shared their research interests, sparking meaningful conversations and connections. The atmosphere was filled with energy, laughter, applause, and a shared commitment to academic excellence.
“HDR Day is more than a celebration—it’s a powerful reminder of the curiosity, courage, and collaboration
that drive our research community forward,” said Professor Antonia Girardi.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making HDR Day a memorable celebration of our research community.
