Knowledge exchange for the energy transition: Technology, Governance and Industry
This project analyses the technical and governance Implications of Low Carbon Building Materials for a new construction industry and its role in the energy transition.
Knowledge exchange will raise awareness of the opportunities for industry and inter-governmental collaboration, economic co-investment and stronger governance in the region.
This project furthers the Australia-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by enhancing cooperation in clean energy transition. Efforts to decarbonise industry construction materials are a critical part of the clean energy transition. Cement for masonry binder and concrete in the construction industry is the world's single largest source of carbon emissions, and new approaches to create Low Carbon Building Materials are needed. This project will advance technical exchange between Indonesian and Australian academics on the commercialisation of green technology. Governance experts will work with officials and industry representatives to develop best practice recommendations for risk assessment and policy-design for green construction.
