Host Organisations

Host organisations are volunteer involving organisations who include university students among their volunteers. Each host organisation is different and how a student spends their time volunteering at a host organisation is varied. Host organisations may have an official volunteer program or a student may donate their time in a one-off capacity.

Four types of host organisations that were identified:

Host organisation with Student programs
Host organisations which mainstream student volunteers
Student-driven Host Organisation and
University Volunteer Activity

As with all typologies there are variations within and across each of these types.
