Westpac Young Technologists Scholarships now open

Students who plan to study technology-related courses at Murdoch University in 2025 can now apply for Westpac Young Technologists’ Scholarship valued at $20,000.

The scholarships are designed for students looking to strengthen their passion and expertise in technology to innovate and create new opportunities and inspire good in the world of STEM, and ultimately, who want to turn that passion into a rewarding career.

Murdoch is one of five Australian universities to partner with the Westpac Scholars Trust which awards 35 scholarships across five Australian universities each year - about 7 scholars per university.

Scholarship recipients get:

  • $20,000 to go towards your undergraduate studies. This includes $15,000 awarded directly to the scholar over three years plus an additional $5,000 to cover the cost of attending the Disruptive Leaders Program.
  • A one-week residential experience in Singapore to meet renowned tech experts from around the world while developing important soft skills in communication, cultural competence and leadership. 
  • Lifelong membership of the W100 Scholars Network – a diverse and growing community of inspiring Aussies ready to collaborate, challenge and offer support. Plus, hard-to-access networking and professional development opportunities.
  • Attendance at the Westpac Scholars Summit in Sydney.

Applications for the 2025 Westpac Young Technologists Scholarships at Murdoch University opened on 2 September and close on 13 January 2025.

To qualify, students must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident; have completed the appropriate level of education to gain university entrance within the past two years; and be enrolled in an approved technology-related degree.
