Humanities, arts and social sciences is one of our more diverse study areas, with the two bachelor's degrees within this study area offering 18 different majors
A Bachelor of Arts degree is the key to just about anywhere. Regardless of the area you choose to study, you will develop the kind of communication, creative-thinking and interpersonal skills that will make you highly employable across a range of careers.
The Bachelor of Arts covers a diverse set of courses, including Sociology which will find you exploring how societal changes are constantly influencing us, Sustainable Development where you will learn about the environment, economic, social and culture dimensions of sustainability and how to apply them to the real world, or if you have a flare for the performing arts then Theatre and Creative Production could be the place for you, where you will become and expert in all things stagecraft and performance.
Or perhaps you’ve always been intrigued by hit shows like Homeland, where delicate global political situations need to be managed, requiring a deep understanding of international politics? And maybe, you’d like to live out those situations yourself? Then a Bachelor of Global Security could be the course for you.
This degree will teach you new ways of thinking to address the biggest global challenges facing the world today, whether it’s political instability, terrorism, or climate change. You’ll get to forge your own pathway through your choice in majors, varying from Terrorism and Counterterrorism, where you will explore the complex geopolitical landscape and the causes of terrorism, to the digital world of Cyberspace, Policy and Security where you will understand the important role played by IT experts in protecting our data, information and everything in between. These are just two of the five majors available, so you can really pick your own journey
Regardless of the pathway you choose, you’ll finish your studies with a well-rounded world view and the essential skills you need to head out into the world and make a real impact in your chosen field.
The places you could
Global Security graduates will be ready for careers in any number of industries, whether it’s working as an Intelligence Analyst providing actionable insights which shape the state of global politics, working alongside experts across the globe to protect the nations security. Or you could find yourself working in Aid and Development, helping foreign countries with critical aid during times of crisis.
And the places you could go with a Bachelor of Arts degree are even more diverse! You could find yourself presenting a hit new TV show, helping to write speeches for big wigs in diverse industries, or providing cultural expertise in foreign relations roles.
