If so, it sounds like you could be open to a career in Creative Media and Communication! 

Ignite your passion for the creating stories that matter by studying Creative Media or Communication at Murdoch University We offer three exciting undergraduate courses: the Bachelor of Creative Media, which prepares you to thrive in the creative industries, the Bachelor of Communication, which equips you for a career in shaping and sharing stories across media. You can also study both in our Bachelor of Creative Media/Bachelor of Communication double degree. Our courses are taught by scholars and industry specialists dedicated to supporting the next generation of professionals, across all industries where engaging people on issues that matter to our everyday lives 

Develop industry –relevant skills whilst engaging in critical issues facing the creative industries today in our Bachelor of Creative Media. Explore the range of disciplines including digital art and animation, screen arts, design and visual communication. Tailor your degree to your passions by specialising in unique majors such as Sound Design, Games Art and Design, Graphic Design, Screen Production and Photography. Our core units will teach you the foundations of creative media, including effective communication, applying strategies and methodologies to your work, developing collaborative and interpersonal skills and maintaining academic and ethical integrity.  

You can also study our Bachelor of Communication and gain the skills to communicate effectively both online and offline across all global industries. Through communication, you can inform, inspire, and create change, becoming the voice for people who may not have one and helping to build a brighter future for generations to come. Our core units explore the ever-changing world of social media, communication research and different communication approaches. From this foundation, you can specialise in exciting majors such as Journalism and Content ProductionStrategic CommunicationDigital Communication and Communication and Media Studies.  

Alongside a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge, we make sure you graduate with the hands-on experience needed to succeed. Through our on-campus student consultancy, MESH, you can work on real projects and build a portfolio throughout your degree, giving you work to show to your future employers from day one. Our industry partnerships also provide unique opportunities to gain practical experience, including internships in newsrooms, not-for-profits, entertainment venues and more. By combining practical projects with industry connections, you’ll graduate career-ready to make a real difference in the world of creative media and communication.

The possibilities are endless for graduates from the School of Media and Communication. With our tailored elective units, you can forge your own path and choose the route that suits your passions. Our graduates have gone on to exciting roles in television, production, journalism, game design, sound design, documentary making, social media management, and more.
