Course Description
People involved with government, neighbourhood groups, social action, overseas aid, schools, local councils, sustainability, Indigenous groups, social services, the arts, business and tourism, are all talking about community development as a new way of doing things.
The Master of Community Development provides you with an understanding of the practice of community development, the broad range of settings in which it is carried out, social research methods and social policy forces that impact on practice. As part of this course, you will undertake an original, substantive investigation of a community development issue under the supervision of a Murdoch University staff member.
This course will enhance practitioners’ qualifications and open opportunities for those interested in undertaking social research in settings such as community and social services, local government, overseas aid work, economic and social planning, sustainable development and Indigenous governance.
