Are you a high school student considering a brighter future in Information Technology? Great choice! While there are no prerequisites for Murdoch University’s Bachelor of Information Technology, some ATAR subjects can give you a head start.

Start with strong communication skills. English ATAR or English Literature ATAR will not only help you qualify for an ATAR but will set you up with the transferable skills you’ll use at uni and throughout your career.

Applied Information Technology ATAR

Get hands on early. This subject introduces you to computer systems and data management while letting you create models and exciting prototypes using real software. It’s the perfect way to build practical skills before you start you degree.

Computer Science ATAR

Love all things tech? This subject gives you a taste what’s ahead, think software development, networking, and cybersecurity. These are key areas you can continue to explore in Murdoch’s Bachelor of Information Technology.

Mathematics ATAR

Maths matters in IT. Whether you choose Mathematics Applications ATAR, Mathematics Methods ATAR and/or Mathematics Specialist ATAR (if you’re up for a challenge) these subjects will help you tackle programming in Computer Science, coding for Games Design and Development, or data visualisation and simulation in Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems.

The good news is any ATAR subject can help build transferable skills for your IT career. So if your timetable looks different, don’t stress, you can still succeed.
