Open to a career in Nursing Day

Are you passionate about caring for people? Do you want to make a genuine difference to the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities? If so, it sounds like you could be open to a career in Nursing!

Perhaps you lead with compassion and are looking for a rewarding career that allows you to put other people first.

If so, it sounds like you could be open to a career in Nursing!

Bachelor of Nursing can turn your passion for caring into a career that makes real-world impact. This degree is your first step to becoming a registered nurse at either our Perth or Mandurah campus, equipping you with the clinical skills, professional values and confidence to improve people’s lives.

Our teaching is guided by a strength-based philosophy, helping you build on the skills you already bring while gaining the confidence to grow as a nurse. Through core units, you will develop essential clinical skills, understand the legal, ethical and cultural factors that shape modern healthcare and learn to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across diverse settings.

We know how important it is to graduate with practical skills and experience, ready to step confidently into your career as a nurse. That’s why we take a hands-on approach to learning. While you study the theory, you’ll also be learning in our state-of-the-art simulation suites, training in lifelike, high-tech environments from day one. Both our Perth and Mandurah campuses feature cutting-edge teaching wards, treatment areas and simulation suites designed to prepare you for real nursing care.

You’ll complete 20 weeks of clinical placement across a broad range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, aged care, community and mental health services throughout your studies. You’ll also benefit from unique placement opportunities with our industry partners, such as The Royal Flying Doctor Service and the Department of Justice including experiences in in remote and rural areas. These placements ensure you graduate not only with a strong foundation of theoretical knowledge, but also with the hands-on experience needed to help shape a brighter future for your patients.

We also recognise that every pathway to university is different. If you’ve completed formal or informal learning, you might qualify for recognition of prior learning, helping reduce the time needed to complete your degree.

The places you could go

With our Bachelor of Nursing, you will graduate with the skills and experience to work across a wide range of sectors. You’ll have the confidence to provide care to diverse patients and communities, stepping into your career ready to make a real impact from day one.

Nursing offers a wide range of career pathways. If you enjoy fast paced environments, you may choose to work in hospital and acute care settings, specialising in areas such as critical care, emergency, or paediatrics,. Community and public health nursing provides opportunities to support individuals and communities across rural, remote, and occupational health settings. You might also pursue specialist roles, delivering care and support when it is needed most, including in palliative care or mental health.

No matter which path you choose, your Bachelor of Nursing will give you the skills, confidence, and experience to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
