WA's best Open Day
Last year, Murdoch's Open Day was rated the best of all WA universities by 3 out of 4 of attendees. The percentage of students putting Murdoch as their preferred university jumped from 74% to 86% after attending Open Day.
Murdoch University Vice Chancellor Eeva Leinonen said visitors would get a broad snapshot of all Murdoch has to offer, with a wide variety of activities and staff and current students on hand to answer all their questions about university life.
“We all look forward to Murdoch’s Open Day each year and work hard to deliver a fun and informative experience for prospective students and their families,” Professor Leinonen said.
“Open Day gives us the chance to show off our fantastic facilities and the staff and students that make up the Murdoch community.
"We want to give the next generation of learners a taste of Murdoch life and the advice they need to take their first steps in their career.”
This year information domes on Bush Court, the bustling central hub of Murdoch’s Perth campus, will provide advice on courses, alternative pathways, career experience opportunities, student support, opportunities to study abroad and student accommodation.
Visitors can also take part in the Open Day Dash to go in the draw to win a $5,000 travel experience thanks to STA travel and Murdoch University. Those who complete the dash before 12 noon will double their chances to win.
Industry professionals and academic experts will present fascinating talks providing insight into the courses on offer, ranging from entrepreneurship, future careers and employability, to exploring the future of medicine, underwater forensic techniques and how to understand the teenage brain.
To help prepare prospective students as they journey towards university life and beyond, there will also be presentations on the calculation of selection rankings, TISC applications, entry pathways, scholarships and understanding university lingo.
