Murdoch University has been recognised as a platinum level institution in the FISU Healthy Campus program - the only university in WA to achieve this status.

This global accreditation, awarded by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), celebrates the University's unwavering commitment to fostering a holistic, health-focused environment for students, staff, and the broader community.

Platinum status reflects excellence across multiple dimensions of campus wellbeing, including physical activity, mental health, nutrition, sustainability, and social responsibility.

The journey to Platinum has been driven by a series of transformative initiatives, from increased access to recreational and fitness activities for staff and students, to enhanced mental health services and peer support programs.

Murdoch Active manager Jamie Ball said it was a monumental moment for the University.

"This achievement is a testament to the culture we've built at Murdoch," Mr Ball said.

A culture that prioritises wellbeing, inclusivity and sustainability.

Community engagement initiatives and student-led wellness campaigns such as support of Rebound WA and Proudly Productive, as well as a continuous commitment towards sustainability, accessibility and inclusion were also key to cementing the University's platinum accreditation.

"We are extremely proud to be the first university in Western Australia to achieve this milestone," Mr Ball said.
