Accreditation milestone for Murdoch Dubai is a win for students
Murdoch University Dubai is celebrating a major endorsement of its reputation for quality, achieving program accreditation with the Dubai Government’s education regulator.
Pro Vice Chancellor Transnational Education Professor Peter Waring said the Commission for Academic Accreditation’s decision was an endorsement of Murdoch’s quality and reputation, as well as the dedication of Dubai’s academic staff.
“This is a proud moment for Murdoch University Dubai and our students in the UAE,” Professor Waring said.
“It’s further testament that our programs meet the highest standards of academic quality, while reflecting on the local context and aspirations of our students.
“It also means our degrees and diplomas are recognised throughout the UAE and enables students throughout the UAE to consider choosing Murdoch University for their education.”
Murdoch’s Dubai campus was established in 2008, with the campus moving to the Dubai Knowledge Park in 2020. Currently occupying 2,500sq m over two levels, the campus will expand to almost 4,000sq m in 2026 to accommodate new teaching, learning and research facilities.
Professor Waring said the demand for Murdoch Dubai’s quality educational offerings was growing. The campus features world-class facilities, including dedicated cybersecurity and gaming labs with custom-built IT systems, purpose-built education-focused furniture, and range of “touchdown” breakout spaces to promote a collaborative teaching, learning and social environment.
To achieve accreditation by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), the University was required to meet rigorous quality standards.
Professor Waring said the achievement reflected Murdoch’s deep commitment to delivering globally recognised, high-quality education that met the highest international and national standards.
“We look forward to strengthening our contribution to the UAE’s economy and supporting the development of skilled, future-ready graduates,” he said.
Earlier this year, the Dubai campus received its federal licence from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
