Murdoch University's 2025 Annual Report is now available.

Murdoch University concluded its historic 50th year financially resilient, growing with purpose and with happier students, as reported in the 2025 Annual Report

Murdoch University Vice Chancellor Professor Andrew Deeks said that the University’s focus on student wellbeing had resulted in overwhelmingly positive student experience results this year.

“Our reporting shows that students at Murdoch are choosing to stay - and succeeding in their education - because they feel a genuine sense of belonging, supported by academic and professional staff who care deeply about their progress and wellbeing,” Professor Deeks said.

“Most importantly, we continue to provide an outstanding educational experience for our students, reflected in the results of the most recent national Student Experience Survey and International Student Barometer.”

Murdoch University was founded on the principle that education should be accessible and that universities can help close the gap of disadvantage – especially for low socio-economic, First Nations, first in family and students with a disability.

In 2025 the difference in student progression between equity and non-equity cohorts at Murdoch narrowed to the smallest gap to date.

“This result is a powerful reflection of our sustained effort to put the right support in place so that every Murdoch student can thrive,” Professor Deeks said.

Murdoch’s 2025 annual report wrapped up the University’s 50th anniversary celebrations, marking five decades of world-class teaching, research and engagement.

The significant year included extra cause for celebrations, with a transformational act of generosity with Perth businessman and philanthropist Ted Powell gifting $100 million to support new facilities at Murdoch’s iconic School of Veterinary Medicine.

“We look to the next 50 years - and well beyond - with optimism and determination, committed to supporting our local community and contributing to global society through the power of education and translational research,” Professor Deeks said.
