LAW362: Law of Corporate Finance

This unit examines the law relating to securities over real and personal property as it applies in Australia. Topics: secured transactions compared with unsecured transactions; consumer credit transactions; pledges; liens; mortgages of real property and chattels; equitable charge, notably the floating charge; security on intangible collateral; and priorities: the general position, the position under the Chattel Securities Act and under the Corporations Act; reform along the lines of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (US).
