BIO316: Molecular Genetics

In this unit we examine at an advanced level how the genetic material controls various activities in bacterial, plant and animal cells. Topics in the lecture component include DNA replication; DNA recombination; regulation of gene expression; molecular mechanisms of development, stress tolerance and signal transduction; mutation and DNA repair. The laboratory component consists of a research project.
