Getting started
If you've received and formally accepted your offer, congratulations! Your postgraduate research journey has officially begun.
At Murdoch we offer a range of services and facilities to help you throughout your postgraduate studies and beyond. Here are some things to get organised before you begin your research degree.
Finalise your enrolment
Get in touch with your supervisor to confirm your starting date and establish how often you will meet. You also need to enrol in any units you will be taking.
Get your student ID card
You'll need your student card to borrow from the library, access certain buildings around campus, use photocopy and printing services and generally so you can identify yourself as a student when needed.
How to sign up for a student card
Buy a parking permit
Parking on campus is free after 5.00pm until 8.00am on weekdays, and all day Saturday and Sunday in most areas. At all other times, you'll need to display a valid parking permit or pay for visitors parking.
Join the Guild
The Murdoch Guild provides education, advocacy, employment and support services, and runs a number of events and facilities on campus. Membership is free and available to any of our students who wish to join.
