If you've received and formally accepted your offer, congratulations! Your postgraduate research journey has officially begun.
At Murdoch we offer a range of services and facilities to help you throughout your postgraduate studies and beyond. Here are some things to get organised before you begin your research degree.
Finalise your enrolment
Get in touch with your supervisor to confirm your starting date and establish how often you will meet. You also need to enrol in any units you will be taking.
Get your student ID card
You'll need your student card to borrow from the library, access certain buildings around campus, use photocopy and printing services and generally so you can identify yourself as a student when needed.
Buy a parking permit
Parking on campus is free after 4.15pm on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday in most areas. At all other times, you'll need to display a valid parking permit or pay for visitors parking.
Join the Guild
The Murdoch Guild provides education, advocacy, employment and support services, and runs a number of events and facilities on campus. Membership is free and available to any of our students who wish to join.
Explore life at Murdoch
We offer a range of services including childcare, healthcare, a fully-equipped gym and sports centre, and academic support to help you develop the study skills you need to succeed.
Getting started as an international student
If you're an international student, you'll need to register with your Overseas Student Health Cover provider and set up a bank account if you haven't already done this.
Connect with others
Join a vibrant community of postgraduate students through our range of clubs and associations, including MUPSA – the Murdoch University Postgraduate Students Association. You can get involved in a range of activities and events throughout the year, from professional development to social meet-ups.
Get answers to your questions
Our Graduate Research Office team is here to help you with any questions about your research degree. We can help with administration, scholarships, enrolment and more, from when you're getting started until you've completed your degree.
