If you want to become a registered migration agent, the Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice is the qualification you need.
In our new Graduate Diploma in Australian Migration Law and Practice you’ll learn everything you need to provide immigration assistance – advising clients on their visa options, preparing visa applications, visa compliance, and reviewing decisions to refuse or cancel visas.
Enhance your studies with real world experience, with a choice of units in Work Integrated Learning, a Migration Clinic or Simulated Professional Migration Practice.
The course is recognised by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) and meets one of the requirements of becoming a registered migration agent in Australia.
Murdoch is one of only six universities in Australia to be recognised by the MARA to deliver this course, and the only university in Western Australia to offer this course face to face.
This course is primarily designed for those who want to become a migration agent and do not have a legal background but it is also suitable for legal practitioners and current migration agents who wish to improve their knowledge and practice in this challenging area of law. For legal practitioners, completion of units in the course can lead to the award of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
Note: Graduates of this award who are intending to apply to the MARA for registration as a migration agent must also pass a separate capstone exam and meet other registration requirements. International students should also note that to become a migration agent in Australia you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Please refer to the MARA website for details of these requirements.
