What did you study at Murdoch?

I studied at Murdoch to grow my knowledge in the creative media field. My course, being screen production, allowed me to grow my strengths in all things film, and tv production. I also undertook some great elective units too, some being radio, photography, and drawing. At Murdoch, we've got it all, and that's exactly why I knew Murdoch was the place to be!

Who was your favourite lecturer and why?

Wowza! I never had a bad experience with my lecturers and academics. They all seemed to go above and beyond for us students, not only inside the weeks we were undertaking their courses too! They were frequently inviting a few of us eagerly keen students to come along to their professional shoots. This was fantastic because it gave us real world experience, working with professionals in the field, but also gave us the opportunity to earn some extra cash while studying! A massive shoutout to all academics and support team members working down in Building 450. You girls and guys were the reason we all loved coming to university.

What did you love about Murdoch?

Honestly, the relationships I've made along the way. From professional relationships to lifelong mates. Especially studying in a creative field, often at times, on sets especially, things can get quite tense, whether that be from stress or from deadlines. It created an environment where myself, my mates and our academics bonded over the ‘creative process’ and began to see each other’s values come to fruition come crunch time.

What is your current role?

I am currently employed as a Video Production Assistant in the Marketing and Communications office at Murdoch Uni!

What is the best decision you have ever made?

Diving into every opportunity headfirst that was thrown at me during my study.

What are you hopeless at?

Taking breaks.

What skill or character trait do you wish you had?

Playing an instrument would be cool. Or singing. Or both.

Who inspires you?

I'm inspired by those who have worked really hard to get to where they are today.  Life comes from you, not at you.

In your view, what’s overrated?

Seafood. Standard bit of fish and chips is elite though.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Smile and have a laugh. Isn't that what life's all about?
