Giving students a kick-start to their university experience.
Imagine receiving $2,000 - $3,000 to make your first year at uni even more rewarding. Would you choose to spend it on textbooks, parking permits or rent to make budgeting easier, or do you think you’d take up an opportunity to study overseas or explore new ways of thinking by embarking on a study tour?
If you’re wondering how to make uni more affordable so you can take advantage of the many experiences on offer, we encourage you to explore the scholarships available, including our Murdoch First Scholarship.
Currently studying a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Forensic Biology & Toxicology and Biomedical Science, Shivani knows firsthand how beneficial the Murdoch First Scholarship is for new uni students.
“Budgets are really tight, so it’s been wonderful to have a financial boost in my first year to help me out.
“You might be stressing about this new experience that you’re about to go into, so the last thing you want to worry about is how you’re going to pay for the costs that are associated with starting university. It has made the financial side of uni nice and easy for my first year.”
“You go your own way at Murdoch. There’s a lot of support and help that makes it all really easy.”
The first of its kind in WA, the Murdoch First Scholarship recognises academic achievement of school leavers by awarding students with an unadjusted ATAR of 80 or above with $2,000 and those with an ATAR of 90 or more with $3,000. So if you’re planning to study full-time and choose one of our courses as your first preference, you could be eligible. Visit the Murdoch First Scholarship. website for more info, including terms and conditions.
This scholarship is just one of many ways we help you settle into uni life. By becoming a Murdoch student, you join our community where free-thinking and support go hand-in-hand. From scholarships and financial assistance, to study groups and social clubs, there’s many ways you can find the support you need to forge your own path.
The Murdoch First Scholarship will not be offered for Semester 1, 2021. We’re working really hard on a new initiative open to all Year 12 high school students starting with us next year, so we can help more people kick start their university journey. Stay tuned, our offer will be announced in early June.
