Future students taste uni life at Murdoch Open Day

On Saturday September 3, Murdoch Open Day saw a flood of enthusiastic visitors enjoying vibrant Bush Court and our wider campus.

The event attracted potential students, families and friends who had a chance to explore the campus and get a feel for the real-life atmosphere and experience that Murdoch has to offer.

Attendees met our world leading researchers and lecturers, and enjoyed tours through specialty areas.

Our course and information hubs were busy, with the Education team even putting on additional tours – great interest was shown across all disciplines.

Visitors saw our campus laboratories and lecture theatres first-hand and enjoyed an initial look at our innovative new teaching and learning facility, Boola Katitjin, which will be opening at the start of 2023.

Staff helping out on the day fielded questions from potential students and made sure everyone felt welcome.

The hourly welcome sessions were a hit and included talks from students and staff about Murdoch, our courses and community. And an entertaining video gave an authentic, light-hearted look at life at our University.

A flood of black and red beanies could be seen as participants left the sessions and made the most of their new Murdoch merchandise to keep warm in the fresh Saturday air.

Open Day is Murdoch’s single largest annual recruitment initiative each year and a significant event on our calendar as many prospective students from Years 10 to 12 come to seek out information as they plan their future careers.

Often some of the most valuable interactions visitors experience are the conversations they had with staff across the day. Thanks to everyone who played a part in making this important day happen.

If you missed out on Open Day and are thinking about studying at Murdoch, come along to an information session.
