Open Day is back! COVID-19 put a hold on the event that was originally scheduled for earlier this year, but Murdoch University is excited to open its South Street campus to prospective students, and anyone interested, this Saturday September 3.
Running from 10am to 5pm, the annual event will be filled with engaging activities, course information, and the chance to meet lecturers and researchers.
Forget virtual tours, at Open Day you can visit your future laboratory or lecture theatre in-person at a study area experience.
Or join a campus tour and take a look at Murdoch’s new, world-class academic building, Boola Katitjin.
Registration for tours and experiences is essential, please book online by 4pm this Friday, September 2. On Saturday, if you haven’t registered for a tour, head to the tour desk and ask our friendly staff about availability.
“Exploring the campus in-person and getting a feel for the atmosphere is one of the highlights Open Day affords,” Associate Director Student Journey Services, Kerina Puttman, said.
“At Murdoch, we pride ourselves on being welcoming, inclusive and supportive, and preparing our students for their graduate careers — by visiting us on Open Day you’ll experience this first-hand.”
She added that Open Day is a great opportunity for future students to meet and hear from a wide range of people who can guide and inspire them, including current students who can share insights about their own studies, the pathway they used for entry, how they combine work and family commitments, and share their credible, and valuable lived experiences as a student at Murdoch.
“You may be exploring a few different course options, or you may have a range of questions around what it’s like to study at uni, or specifically, Murdoch,” she said.
“You’ll have access to a great range of information and conversations, and we’ll answer the questions you didn’t even know you had.”
The University will be running engaging Welcome Experience sessions throughout the day that will showcase alumni, students and academics, plus everyone gets a goodie bag.
