Perth February ceremonies
Tell your friends and family you’ll be on stage at RAC Arena. Celebrate your graduation in style at one of Perth’s most modern venues.
Perth ceremonies are held twice a year in February/March and September. Dates are confirmed several weeks prior to the event.

Murdoch University’s graduation ceremonies will be held in accordance with the Western Australian Government’s COVID-19 regulations. All attendees at the ceremonies will be required to show proof of vaccination on arrival at RAC Arena. Attendees will also need to sign in using the mandatory contact registers. Should additional regulations be imposed by the State Government prior to the event these will be communicated with you.

About the ceremony
The fee includes your regalia, admission and refreshments for yourself and two guests. You can choose to hire or purchase your regalia.

Tickets for you and your guests will be delivered digitally through Ticketek in the week prior to the ceremony. They will be sent to the email address listed when registering for your ceremony. You and your guests will need to present your tickets to gain entry.
- Two guest tickets are included in your ceremony fee (Research Doctoral graduands can have up to four guest tickets included).
- You can purchase up to three extra guest tickets at $25 per ticket.
- Guest tickets will not be available for purchase after the online ceremony portal in MyInfo has closed.
- Children over the age of two years will require a ticket.
- No refund will be given for extra tickets no longer required.
- Your guest tickets are in addition to your ticket.
- You must order your own guest tickets. All guest seating is allocated by Ticketek under your name to comply with contact tracing and event requirements as instructed by the WA Government.
Located in the Perth CBD, RAC Arena is easy to get to and surrounded by popular places to eat and drink before your ceremony.
The Arena is a ticketed venue and conditions of entry apply. Bags larger than A4 (including handbags) and prams will need to be checked into the external cloakroom. Read the full terms of entry.
Travel and parking
Make sure you leave with plenty of time in case of traffic congestion and to find a parking spot. Parking is available at RAC Arena, accessible from both Milligan and Market Street. There are 14 ACROD bays available. Fees apply.

Aged, disabled and wheelchair access
If either you or any of your guests use a wheelchair, have a mobility issue or require special seating arrangements, email Completion and Graduations at least two weeks before the ceremony so suitable seating can be arranged.
What to wear
You must wear the complete Murdoch University academic regalia for the award you are receiving, or the regalia for previous awards.
Pronunciation of your name
To ensure your name is pronounced correctly during the ceremony, advise Completion and Graduations of the correct pronunciation at least two weeks before.
Tickets and regalia
Tickets for you and your guests will be delivered digitally through Ticketek in the week prior to the ceremony. They will be sent to the email address listed when registering for your ceremony.
Your regalia and ceremony instructions must be collected before your ceremony. You can collect your regalia from the Mini Hub, building 126 at Murdoch University during the following times below. Parking is available in car park 1.

Professional photographers will be available at regalia collection on campus to take individual and family portraits. No bookings are necessary. A non-refundable service fee of $30 is payable on the day and is additional to the cost of photos you purchase.
Plus, receive a bonus outdoor photography shot, taken in our beautiful university grounds, with each photography session at regalia collection on campus.
Each graduation ceremony starts promptly and follows a set program. You need to arrive on time to register and take your seat so you don’t miss out.

Accepting your certificate
As you reach the stage your name will be checked before it is announced. Once announced, walk across the stage to the Chancellor to receive your certificate.
The ceremony photographer will be positioned in front of the stage to take a photo of the presentation. Following this you will then continue across the stage where an usher will direct you back to the graduand seating area.
After the ceremony
It’s time to relax and celebrate with your family and friends. Enjoy complementary light refreshments and have your photos taken.
To make your night run more smoothly, arrange in advance where you will meet your guests after the ceremony. Waiting at the exits can cause congestion.
Return your regalia
Hired regalia must be returned to the regalia return desk before you leave.
Studio and Stage Photography
Photographers will be available before and after the ceremony for studio portraits. No bookings are necessary. A non-refundable service fee of A$30 is payable on the night and is additional to the cost of photos you purchase. You can view and order packages combining individual and family photos from GFP Graduations.
Souvenir Stage photos of your certificate presentation will be printed with year of graduation and Murdoch University crest, and are available to view, purchase and take home on the night.
A complimentary download of your certificate presentation photo will also be made available. Use your student ID as your voucher code. A different code will be provided if you have studio photos taken.

Certificate Framing Graduation Keepsakes
A range of keepsakes including footage of the ceremony, certificate frames, plaques and gowned graduation bears will also be available at regalia collection and at the ceremony. Pre-orders may also be made before the ceremony at GFP Graduations and should be claimed from the appropriate stations on the night of your ceremony.

Ceremony dates are subject to change. Under no circumstances shall the University be liable for any actual or alleged loss by a ticket holder or another arising from the change of date, cancellation or postponement of the event; this includes but is not limited to travel, accommodation and subsistence costs, or any loss of business or earnings due to the cancellation or postponement of the graduation ceremony.
