Choosing your modules
You can take the Maths Diagnostic Quiz in LMS to find out which skills you may need to work on. The quiz is available to students enrolled in BSC100, CHE140, EXS124, EXS204, ICT100, MAS162, MAS164, MAS180, MAS182, MAS183, PEN120, PEN152 or PSY173, and to some Open Universities Australia, offshore and other admission pathway students.
You can study as many of the 8 modules as you like, however we have made some recommendations based on what maths or science units you are studying.
Units | Recommended modules |
---|---|
Business students | At least modules 1, 2, 6 and 7 |
BSC100, ICT100 and other science students | At least modules 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7 |
CHE140 and OSCI18 | Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 |
EXS124 and EXS204 | At least modules 5, 6, 7 and 8 |
MAS180, MAS183 and MAS541 | At least modules 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 |
MAS162 and MAS164 | At least modules 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 |
MAS182 | All modules |
PEN120 and PEN152 | All modules |
PSY173 | Modules 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 |
PEN540 | All modules |
EDN508 | All modules |
We recommend that other mathematics, physics and engineering students attend the full Maths Refresher program.
If you performed poorly on the Maths Diagnostic Quiz, consider enrolling in MAS164 to cover more basic mathematical topics before attempting MAS182 or more complex mathematical units. Speak to the academic chair for mathematics and statistics.
