As you progress through your time at Murdoch, your assignment questions or research topics become more advanced. This workshop will further develop your search strategy skills by learning how to use databases to find relevant and reliable high-quality articles and studies. 

You will learn

  • Identifying the words to use when searching for articles on your topic 

  • Creating search strings by using Boolean and search operators 

  • Searching databases 

Who should attend

Anyone with foundational search strategy skills looking to learn how to use databases, including but not limited to 

  • Second and third-year students 

  • New postgraduate or HDR students 

  • Any student or staff member needing a refresher on database search techniques
