Mills & Boon Collection
The Mills & Boon Collection consists of 3700 books mostly collected over 30 years by Judy Adamson, previous Archivist at Film Australia. The collection, mainly post-World War 2 novels, was donated to the library in 2008. To this was added a small collection of titles already held by the Library.
Grant Stone, former Scholarly Resources Librarian at Murdoch University, has said that "Mills & Boon is the quintessential publisher of romance literature, widely read by women" and that the collection will complement the Library's other collections in women's studies.
Mills & Boon has been the subject of a number of theses and monographs of which Passion's Fortune: The Story of Mills & Boon is held in the Library's general collection.
A general overview and commentary on romance literature can be found in Love Lines: A Romance Reader's Guide to Printed Pleasures, by Rosemary Guiley.
