Moonlit movies return to Murdoch this summer.
Experience the magic of outdoor cinema at Murdoch University’s South Street Campus, thanks to our collaboration with Telethon Community Cinemas.
Telethon Community Cinemas advised their patrons they were taking measures to act in the best interests of the community, while still considering the impacts reducing their fundraising activities would have on those they seek to help.
Below is an update on their four venues in response to the evolving COVID-19 situation.
Telethon Community Cinemas will once again be hosted at the Murdoch Outdoor Cinema from 12 December 2019 until 21 March 2020.
Telethon Community Cinemas is Perth’s family-friendly, affordable community outdoor cinema, proudly donating all of its profits to charities improving the quality of life of kids in a health or physical ability crisis. More than 700 volunteers run the event each summer and to date over $9 million has been raised.
In previous years, donations have been made to Horsepower Swan Valley, Cahoots, Make A Wish, Edmund Rice Camps and Rebound WA among others.
A secluded grassed area behind Building 122 will once again be transformed into an enchanting, al fresco movie theatre from Thursday, December 12 until Saturday, April 4 playing host to a variety of exceptional films which will appeal to Perth film lovers of all ages.
"We are delighted that Murdoch University has again decided to welcome the local community to enjoy the campus and experience the joy of outdoor cinema on beautiful Perth summer evenings."
Volunteer Event Coordinator Ken Gibbons
