Policy Development
The Office of Quality and Standards develops University policy related to the governance and management of learning, teaching and curriculum. We collaborate and consult broadly to recommend policy aligned to the Higher Education Standards Framework 2021, the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000, the Australian Qualifications Framework, other compliance requirements, and operational needs.
The standard process for policy development includes conducting research, benchmarking against other universities, ensuring compliance requirements are met, considering best practice, thorough consultation with University subject matter experts, consultation through committees such as the Educational Policy Review Committee, refinement, and finally approval through the appropriate mechanism, which is often a committee such as Academic Council.
